Day 2:
Today was much more of a calming day in the office since there were not nearly as many people as the first day. This allowed me to sit back and take a breath, and fully settle into my project, knowing I had more time to learn about both about the occupation of physical therapy and different body parts and their recovery process. Today we mostly focused on the shoulder, and talked about different injuries such as "Frozen Shoulder" and an injury to the Rotator Cuff and how that affects everyday life. I will soon be having a quiz on the anatomy of the shoulder on how to identify different muscles and how they function, and will be reviewing for that tomorrow. I also learned about the different machinery around the office, and the functions of what they did and how they helped on the road to recovery. I was told of the many different exercises of the shoulders, and what they did to make the shoulder feel better and for one to get their full range of motion back if they didn't 100% have it. I am looking forward to getting back into the office on Thursday, and excited for what area of the body I am focusing on next!

Day 1:
Today was my first day in the office, so I was a little nervous when I first walked in. Diane introduced me to the three patients in the office and walked me through the different exercises, as well as the ultra-sound and stim treatments. As patients kept coming in, I became more comfortable around them, and learned about their lives and the injuries/recovery they were going through. Today's most popular body part was the knee, since there were three patients with knee injuries. One in which was a farmer, who recently had surgery about a month and a half ago, but was already up and working to keep his farm running. He is very easy to work with due to his mindset to keep on working, and is progressively getting better and better. As the day moved on, the injuries continued to differ, and I got to learn more about the recovery process of different injury locations. I am looking forward to tomorrow, as I get to start working with more patients and build a relationship with people around the community.
